About us
Ideas for new tool systems are usually born from customer requirements and close observation of the market. This is how DIAHON develops solutions that give our customers worldwide decisive advantages over the competition and make honing once again one of the most efficient and competitive precision machining processes for bores.

coolEX - honing on machining centers
The coolEX® honing tool technology integrates conventional hydraulically controlled honing into a cnc controlled machining centre with no technical modifications, using regular honing kinematics (expansion during machining), thus generating the classical cross hatch at the specified honing angle.
FDream honing tools
The high quality requirements for bores, which are essential for functional reasons, often make numerous machining operations necessary in industrial production. Particularly challenging component bores, such as those found in control housings, with annular grooves, varying web widths and poor incoming quality of the pre-machined bore, represent a significant manufacturing challenge.
With this new development, we have succeeded in combining reaming, using reaming inserts from URMA, with honing in a sequential process and integrating both operations coaxially into a single tool. This technology makes it possible to eliminate several machining steps while further improving efficiency and quality, making the process fit for the future.
This reaming-honing tool was successfully developed by us as the FDream tool and has since been brought to production maturity. The combination tool is protected by the registered utility model DE20 2020 102 652 U1.
The film demonstrates the process using a relatively complex component as an example: a control housing with a long and repeatedly interrupted bore.
